Once I’d abandoned the instructions and used intuition I found this neat little device very easy to use.

The big red slide switch is the important one. Flip the switch and it turns on the laser in the self leveling mode. I found it easiest to use when mounted on a camera tripod as it’s less likely to get disturbed. It levels within a couple of seconds. Whilst leveling the beam flashes and the green light on top pulses, going steady when level

The tricky bit was finding out how to activate it with a locked beam (if you want to project an arbitrary cross line on the wall without it leveling). To do this you have to leave the main red switch OFF and turn it on with the small red button on top by holding it down for a few seconds. When locked the light on top is red rather than greed. Holding it down again turns it off.

If you’re like me, I guess you won’t rush into buying stuff, you read some reviews first, right?
Well folks, I have no idea how and why everyone is speaking so highly about this product. And I can’t blame it on my luck, it’s obvious that it’s not a faulty item, it’s just what it is.

    Now, to the point.

I’ve just unboxed it, switch it on and… yeah, I’m already thinking about returning it. But not before sharing my experience, so you won’t waste your time (and money) on this.

It’s so dim I can’t see the laser line on a wall close to the window on the side of my house. I’m not even thinking about going to the front ones. And it’s a dark rainy day, almost four a clock in the afternoon, November 3rd. Yeah, that means it’s past daylight saving time, so you realize how dark I’m talking about.

To cut it short, I guess you can use this only at night or with all the blinders down. Otherwise, you can’t even see where it is on the wall, two meters in front of you. And man, I mean you can’t see nada!
I guess the’ve sent this item to the wrong country, they should have sold it in Norway. Or Finland. Or Iceland. Yeah, they’ve got long nights there and they can use this thing properly, not like us, in UK.

The only good thing about this item is that the level is ok. And that it comes with batteries and a case, with a lid which you can close with a velcro patch. But that’s about it.
Well, in the end you get what you paid for, right?

Very useful for tracing different works. I use it for tracing electrical circuits and doses for sockets and switches. The vertical point is also very useful, with which I determine the centre of the wall to mount circuits for the luminaire.
Automatic calibration is done only in vertical position
A tool that makes it easy for you to work around the house. It’s simple to use. It is more difficult in the open air. On a sunny day, the laser beam is unreadable at 4-5m. I had a tripod around the house. The LOCK function and the translation of the horizontal plane depend on its accuracy. The case is for the level body only.
    Light quite strong.
For what I need it is very good, today I mounted a few doses of connections and electrical equipment in a room of 5×5 m and helped me a lot in aligning the doses, at a distance of 5 m the line looks great.
    Recommend 100% for the price/features

Lovely little self explanatory tool. Unfortunately the beam itself is very weak and only suitable for close up work. Certainly of no use outside as the beam is virtually invisible beyond a few metres. The actual instructions say working horizontally up to 5 metres, which is true but I had to close the shutters to see the beam and that’s indoors.

We’re currently in the process of redecorating a number of rooms in the house, including panelling in the children’s room and our bedroom. Purchased this to help make sure everything was going to be level.

I’m actually quite impressed. Item arrived next day and was very simple today set up – There’s a power button on top, and a locking slide to keep the level in place so it’s easy to operate.

We set this up on a tripod to the planned height – The laser was bright enough in normal lighting conditions and allowed us not only to visualise how the panels would sit but made easy work aligning everything. You place the laser level on a tripod at the specified height and turn on – Ensure the locking slide is off to alloy the laser to level itself and then I find locking it in place helps. I have also compared the results with a traditional level and both align so we’re happy.

Simple purchase but it’s made projects like this much easier.

Having had my eye on one for a while, and hearing that a green laser is clearer this came up on a deal.
Having used other equipment with red lasers, I totally agree with it being more visible. Working in a room with no curtains and the sun shining through the green laser was much clearer than my red laser on the digital measure, and an old Stanley laser stud finer. You can lock the laser to set the line on what ever angle you need, but here is where my issues came.
You absolutely need some sort of tripod, I used a gopro gorilla tripod, but then my next issue arose. The self leveling device will only level within +/-4°. So I though I’d be able to stick it anywhere and angle it using my gorilla tripod. Nope. Instead I had to balance the laser on top of a door with an array of books to get the right height of my curtain rail.
What should absolutely come in the box is a magnetic clip that you could attach to any wall beading so you can set your height. They seem to be sold separately.

It’s so handy to have that I won’t return and manage with the equipment I’ve got, but for a future purchaser I would definitely look for one with a magnetic clip or if you are a photographer with a decent tripod you’ll be golden, and definitely get a green laser over a red laser. In my opinion.

The media could not be loaded.

Needed a level to help draw lines on the wall and this has done a great job so far. The green laser lines are very easy to see and the self-levelling mechanism works great.
