Bought to replace an ageing Tassimo machine that was leaking and bursting pods. Did a bit of research beforehand, and finally decided on the Dolce Gusto – so pleased I did.
Incredibly simple to use, a HUGE variety of pods available, not just Dolce Gusto branded either.
Only drawback? Water tank not big enough for my new coffee needs! Can only get 3 x 6bar cups out of a full tank. But it’s no real hardship to walk across to the tap!
Highly recommended.

Nice little machine. Replaced one (another make) that died after 30 months so hope for better this time. It It seems to work fine. The water flow is quite slow so being able to set the cutoff and do something else is useful.
One query – the instructions are multi-lingual and rely on pictures. What it does not cover is how to clean the machine – it has a pic showing a bottle of descaler, but how much should you use and how often? As my previous one probably suffered from this I’d really like to know.

This is my second dolce gusto machine, my last one only lasted 12 months. As this has a small footprint for small kitchens, and ease of use I decided to give another one a try. I will be descaling more often in a hope to prolong its life. Only one thing that might be a problem to anyone not using one before, the instructions don’t come in English with this particular machine, but the diagrams are quite clear to follow. Some other sellers offer a bundle with machine and a selection of coffee pods, for me this wasn’t useful as I gave away most of them due to them not being to my taste.

Hopefully it is going to be replaced but would I buy another – not sure!! Told to return it but no refund yet!

The body of the machine leans forward, while most cups get wider at the top. A complete mismatch and prevented me from safely standing my mugs on the mug support. And in use the vibrations would have danced the cup off the stand anyway. Ignore the stars for flavour and blend as I didn’t get beyond running some clear water before I could see why this was unusable for me.

Brought as a replacement for my mother, she loves this machine but the only fault is that the water container is a little stiff and awkward for her to take off to refill. Apart from that it’s so easy to use and its pleasing to the eye, still noisey but I think all these machines are

Having looked at the many different, and somewhat strange, designs I opted to give Krups a try. I was immediately taken by the size of the water holder; or should I say by the lack of size. My concerns turned out to be well founded and I find myself spending a lot of time filling the thing. This, in itself, would be bearable if it weren’t for the fact that the container is such a tight fit that I find myself fighting to get the thing off! On further study I found that virtually all the similar machines possess woefully small capacities. This will not be a problem if you only drink espresso from a thimble but, if like me, you like your coffee, or hot chocolate, in larger servings you will be disappointed. That is if you have managed to fill the thing in the first place!!

Terrific vibration. Very loud, coffee cup vibrates of the grid you have to keep putting it back in place. £58 down the drain.
