Being relatively small it is easy to position the start of the laser a the exact point it should start and then show a straight line. Having used it to fit curtain poles and book shelves with multiple brackets it makes lining up the brackets very easy and saves time.

The spirit level moves slowly, and tends to be fairly sensitive, due to the size of the tool a slight movement at the end does impact the level a fair amount. I tend to double up with a self levelling cross laser and / or spirit level, and the level is generally fairly accurate.

All in a great little tool.

First issue I had with this out of the box was realising that whoever last plastered this house must have been fairly intoxicated, as I found that the beam was frequently interrupted and therefore destroyed within a foot or two of origin. Not the fault of the manufacturer, though.

The main issue with the product itself, however, is that the beam is projected maybe 1cm or so above the bottom of the unit, so lining up (for example) one end of a long item with the other is not hugely easy. Yes, I could screw a hole into the wall into which I could then mount the spirit level, and then use that as a guide or….I could just use a traditional analogue spirit level.

Feels like a case of ‘if it ain’t broke…’

The advertisement is NOT clear. So ……….. drill the hole, then fix the holder to the wall …………… then put up your pictures in a nice straight line ……………….. then take down the holder, remove screw, fill the hole and repaint wall.

Works well. Accurate in domestic use unles you have a huge home. Best used in low light. Some people reviewing this have complained about needing to screw a fixing in the wall to use, that’s also required for the expensive items used by professionals. If you have an assistant you can get by without fixing it to the wall. Managed to drop mine within a few days and the wall bracket ledge snapped off but was able to repair with superglue.

Ordered Bosch items previously and had no problems but this item has been a waste of time and money. Now tried this product twice and both have same issue – spirit level bubbles do not centre correctly causing the laser to be off true vertical or horizontal; it’s one of the two jobs that this product has to do correctly so not really prepared to use in conjunction with another spirit level to get lines level! At £34 pound a pop kind of expecting this product to work correctly. Second one returned for a refund.

I was quite worried about this product at first thinking it was just a gimmick but I have to say it has pleasantly surprised me. It is really accurate (if you take the time and effort to set it up correctly). I’ve used this for a number of jobs around the house including handing some 2M long pictures… Does the job perfectly.

So I bought this mainly to help me with fitting the new kitchen as I had to get the units and worktop level, etc.
Unfortunately, when comparing it with my larger spirit level, this one appears to be slightly off. Furthermore, it is also rather small so unsuitable for making sure larger surfaces are level.

The one thing this is really good for is helping you drill holes in the wall at the same level as you can use the laser function and the spirit level to make sure they’re straight… if you want to hang picture frames. However, the little metallic balls at the back of it left marks on my lining paper.

The laser function does help but in terms of it being a spirit level, I wouldn’t recommend.

This has so many flaws i can’t understand how people have used it! The unit with the spirit levels and lasers in attaches to a bracket. The bracket can be mounted to a tripod or hung on a wall (on a screw head using the key hole slot on the rear).

    Problems:

    1. the unit does not attach solidly to the bracket – it attaches via magnets. but it is very easy to knock it and it will then only be partially attached and thus at an angle. Even if you get it level using the spirit level, if you knock it and don’t notice it’ll be out of true.

    2. the spirit levels – the lasers are only useful if the levels can bet set. But they can’t! the bubble is tiny, and there’s a large gap either side between the lines. Its very easy to be a couple of mm out, which means your line/dot on the wall could be cms out. Also the bubble seems to drift once set – or maybe the bracket itself is shifting? Eitehr way, not level, and not consistent.

    3. the bracket – on a tripod its ok, but hung on a wall it wobbles all over the place. look at the photo – hanging on a single nail (as it is designed for) the level droops. Even if you had it very tightly on a screw head it would be impossible to set it level.

So overall – shambles. Just doesn’t do what it is supposed to do. Returned for refund, never did use it as I’m not drilling holes based on this joke of a tool. I’ll be buying either a long spirit level or a self levelling laser level.
