I’ve been using a
Bosch Quigo Cross Line Laser with MM02 Mount
for a few years, and a
Bosch Quigo Plus Cross Line Laser with Tripod
for a few moths less than the regular Quigo. The regular Quigo is better than the plus, but the UiversalLevel3 is better still.
While there is little difference in price between the Quigo and the Quigoplus, the UniversalLevel3 is double the price. For the extra money you get a heavier, bigger and more rugged unit that ups both the accuracy and the usable throw distance of the laser.
The UniversalLevel3 also adds a ‘plumb line’ function that allows you to align points on a ceiling and floor accurately – though there is a slight design floor in that the unit needs to e attached to a tripod and in it needs to be positioned so that the down firing laser is not obscured which can be a bit limiting.
The accuracy of the Universallevel3 is very very good. The self leveling is quick and can be disabled to allow for angled lines to be projected.
It doesn’t have the checkmarks along the projected lines that the Quigo Plus has, but I have found those to be pretty useless anyway so no great loss.
The Universallevel3 has various modes which are switchable by the single mode button. Essentially these are Horizontal/Vertical cross-line; unlocked cross-line, horizontal/vertical cross-line with plumb line.
The Plumb line is achieved by projecting a dot downwards and another cross line upwards which intersects with the vertical line of the regular cross-line to indicate the two vertically aligned points.
If you only have occasional use for a laser level then the Quigo is a good buy, but if you intend to use it more often, need higher accuracy or are working in a larger area then the UniversalLevel3 is a better bet. The set which includes a tripod is not worth the extra money, in my opinion, though as the supplied tripod feels quite cheap with better alternatives available at a lower price. The screw thread on the bottom of the laser level is a standard 1/4 inch so will fit more tripod screws.

after looking at all 4 options available i opted for the level 3 green one. obviously i wasnt happy as i turned it on to find out the laser was in fact red and they have basically lied on their product description to make you think your getting a green laser and you are not.

does what its meant to

Can’t see the beam in any bright-ish light, used it to ensure kitchen units level and curtain poles too.

It was easy to use works well and where you put it it levels from a fairly level surface. If the datum level is on a slop it stops it self levelling mechanism from. working correctly but what it was designed for it does very well

When the item arrived I unpacked, put the supplied batteries in and switched on and nothing happened. Thinking there must be some clever way of switching this on to defeat an interlock I looked at the reviews and a useful video on here (as well as checking the pretty awful instructions that came with the product). Low and behold the laser simply did not work. So the item has been returned to Amazon for a full refund. A complete waste of my time. Instead I’ve now spent over a £100 on a Bosch laser which reliably does the job out of the box. Would give this item 0 stars if I could because it is simply landfill.

I bought this for tiling the bathroom and replacing skirting boards. It works great indoors. Nice clear line. Not tried it outside
